This site was created so I can keep my friends and family updated on my excursions in India while on a Fulbright Scholarship. I will be studying Hindustani classical singing.

Life in Delhi

I've been here for a week and it's absolutely incredible. The orientation session lasted until last Friday, and then everyone spread out to their respective cities of affiliation. A few of us remained here in Delhi and are staying with a Fulbrighter who is working on her PhD and has been here for four months. Laura has a very nice apartment here in Jung Pura extension, a great neighborhood that is close to a few markets. I'm staying at her place along with Rachelle, Takahiro (Tak), and Seema, three other Fulbrighters. Tak, Seema and I are planning on moving into our own apartment as soon as we decide which one to take - we've seen a few, but the one we like the most is pretty far south in Sheik Sarai neighborhood. It would get expensive to take public transportation so far every day. So we'll see.
